Tony specialises in the handling of patents and designs for mechanical innovations including the preparation and filing of patents and designs in Australia and internationally, providing opinions on patent and design validity and infringement.
Background
Tony has been a registered patent attorney for more than 40 years. He was a partner originally with Davies and Collison which, as a result of a merger became Davies Collison Cave.
Tony has assisted a wide variety of clients from individuals and small companies up to major national and international corporations. Tony has experience with many technologies associated with the mining industry such as slurry pumps; mineral treatment apparatus including cyclone separators and vibratory screen classifiers; mine support and reinforcement products such as rock bolts, cable bolts and support pillars; underground mine vehicles; drilling machines; and duct and cable handling equipment.
He also has significant experience in agriculture technologies including tractors, seeders, harvesters and the like as well as livestock handling including fencing systems and crushers.
Other areas of expertise include containers and packaging, systems and plant for handling contaminated waste materials, sporting equipment including golf clubs and surf/body boards and associated products.
Tony is a fellow of the Institute of Patent Attorneys of Australia (IPTA). He also served on the Board of Examiners for registration of patent attorneys.
