Profile
Practice Areas
Dean is a Patent Attorney in training. He assists the Patents and Designs team, particularly in the mechanical engineering space.
Background
Dean holds a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering (Honours) from the University of Sydney. He has practical experience in the construction services industry, working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and fire safety systems.
Dean completed his honours thesis analysing the effect of drag reduction methods on the rear of bluff body trailers. Specifically, he focussed on developing a novel method to delay flow separation at the trailing edge of semi-trailers, thereby energising the low-pressure wake and reducing pressure drag. His work was modelled using Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD).
In his spare time, Dean enjoys spending time outdoors with friends playing tennis, soccer and surfing.
