We are looking for a trade marks attorney/lawyer who is passionate about empowering businesses through strategic trade mark protection and eager to contribute to our growing practice. Key Responsibilities

As a Trade Mark Attorney/Lawyer at Halfords IP, you will:

  • Handle a broad caseload, including trade mark searches, prosecution, oppositions, and disputes, both in Australia and globally.
  • Engage in research and thought leadership, with frequent opportunities for article writing, publications, and other IP-focused content.
  • Develop and implement brand protection strategies, with opportunities to grow a trade marks practice and support our business development goals.
  • Take ownership of client relationships, offering strategic and commercially viable IP advice.
  • Provide support on various IP matters, including Indigenous cultural IP and geographical indications, reflecting our commitment to both social responsibility and excellence in IP law.

Qualifications

  • A registered Australian Trademark Attorney/Lawyer with 2+ years of post-qualification experience in trade marks.
  • A strong background in trade mark law, particularly Australian and international trademark systems, with a business development mindset.
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct research and communicate insights effectively in written formats, such as articles and client advisories.
  • A proactive, entrepreneurial approach and a genuine interest in building a practice.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present complex legal issues in a clear, accessible way.
