Graham Halford Dip App Phys (1943-2011)
Graham obtained a Diploma of Applied Physics from the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology in 1963, joining the Patent Office in that year. From 1967 to 1971 he was employed in the Patent Department of the Australian Philips Group, entering private practice as a Patent Attorney in 1971.
A founding partner in the firm of Shelston Waters, Graham left there to form his own practice in 1979, thus laying the foundations for Halfords IP.
His professional strengths included a comprehensive grasp of case law and intellectual property policy issues.
Graham retired from day-to-day practice in 2003 but was retained by Halford & Co and then Halfords IP until the end of 2010 to lead our professional education program. Graham passed away in August 2011.
